NYS Infectious Disease Prevention Training - HERO Act

As part of the hero act employers must permit safety committee designees to attend a training course up-to 4 hours long, without suffering a loss of pay. This training course should cover the function of worker safety committees, rights established under the hero act, and an introduction to occupational safety and health.

CEU Requirements 

  1. 100% attendance for the Class
  2. Completion of Continuing Education and Training Registration Form
  3. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
  4. Completion of required pre-and post-quiz assessment
  5. As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination
  6. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)

  • Undertand the function of worker safety committees 
  • Understand the rights established under the HERO act
  • Understand the basics of occupational safety and health
  • Understand how to protect yourself from infectious diseases in the workplace
